External Rainwater Drain Flooding and Could Cause Damp?

Hi, looking for some help/advice if anyone can help!
My property was built in 1900. I have a down pipe from the roof/guttering that feeds into a drain which is backing up during heavy rain and floods the ground area around the corner of my house. I am worried that this will eventually cause a damp issue in my property. Also, the excess water runs across my drive and onto the road outside my property. I've had a couple of drain companies out to investigate with rods/cameras and there are a couple of suggestions although the the cameras did not reveal anything useful.
1. Root ingress from a nearby tree has disturbed the old pipe work
2. It is thought that the old pipe work fed into a ditch or soak away outside the property which has, over the years, has filled/failed.
There are no mains drains nearby which I could connect to so I am unsure what options I have. Also, I am have very limited funds but feel I need to get this sorted sooner rather than later.
Any help or advice very much appreciated
Thank you
