Gurgling noises after bathroom sink is used?

by ivandaviesid63 » Sun Sep 27, 2020 1:45 am

Hello all.
Me and the missus have noticed last couple of days a gurgling soung every time the sink is used in the bathroom. When entering the room in the corner is the shower unit. Next to that is the bath. Next to the bath is the wash basin. All on one wall. How can the gurgling sound travel down the sink under the bath, and under the shower? Id have thought the gurgling would be a small blockage under the wash basin and be heard travelling down the sink and out to the pipe outside. Any idea of what it is and how to correct it anyone? Many thanks in advance. Yours truly.

Hi ivandaviesid63
The most likely cause is that the waste pipes have been installed without support so have dipped forming a water trap which is also an air trap. It could also be a blockage so try a drain cleaner first, if this doesn't solve the issue you will have to trace the waste pipe and wedge up any dips.
Regards S
