Some forums frown upon new members immediately asking for help before introducing themselves sooo: I’m an oldish chap, normally quite competent in practical matters, who would appreciate knowledgable advice regarding a very specific little problem. Our property is nearly seven years old and was thrown together by a bunch of unskilled cowboys going by the name of Bellway. The whole of the plumbing system was shockingly poor. I am presently dealing with remedial work in our ground floor cloakroom. The toilet cistern is a Conceala 2 by Armitage Shanks/Ideal Standard. I have totally renewed the pneumatic dual flush outlet valve-apart from the seat, and am happy that there is a good seal. (The rubber seals on the old one lasted about eighteen months a pop and I anticipate this will be no better.) My problem is with the inlet valve which I also intend to renew. The current setup has a vertical 15mm copper feed to an armoured flexi with an integrated serviceman at the compression joint with the copper feed pipe. The flexi loops to the cistern lid (left section of three) joining an expensive white plastic sheathed flexi which leads (partially submerged) to the original inlet valve. I think that they are a push fit with an internal cam (operated by an external lever) to lock them together. No matter what position I put the lever in I am unable to pull them apart... Any tips please? You Tube has let me down on this occasion! If nothing is forthcoming on here I will try renewing just the internal diaphragm of the inlet valve.
