Leaky Stem Adapter for Shower - thread issue ??

Hello.
Adding a new Hudson Reed shower...house in France..
It comes with two stem adapters..see pictures.
No matter how hard I tighten these they leak significantly...BUT if I then remove the shower and put back the previous screw caps I only need to tighten by hand and there is no leak...wondering if its a thread issue..pictures of everthing attached.
Thanks in advance

Hi lerouret
If you are referring to the chrome nuts fitting onto the shower valve then you should be able to do these up by hand. If you are not getting 4/5 turns on the nuts then the threads are not correctly aligned. If they do tighten this much and the nut is fully down the thread on the valve then the olive is not big enough - try a different olive.

Hi thanks..just realised not very clear in the post...
Connection to valve is sound....it’s the threaded elbow that is the problem...I have used about eight turns of ptfe, the right direction and it scews up nicely...no bunching...but they both leak..one of the problems is that it is hard to tighten to these up...I have use pliers..but I did find a stem adapter from JG that has a ´bolt like ´ collar...hoping this is going to help as I can then use more ptfe since I can now get some leverage...

Hi lerouret
Yes the adaptors you detail will be much better because they are tapered threads - still use ptfe tape.
