Updating tiled shower with shower tray, how to connect waste?

by robert_ireland » Wed May 26, 2021 12:37 pm

We are currently updating a bungalow/chalet which stands on the property we purchased last year and even though the bathroom/shower are functional, we would still like to update and refresh them.

Currently there is a tiled shower, with a curtain and we are installing a shower tray. Attached two pictures of the current situation and the shower tray.

We are looking at options on how to connect the shower waste to the existing 'hole' in the ground as shown in the picture.
I did a bit of online research and found a flexipipe as a solution but also that this is far from ideal. Would it be best to have a connection with solid pipes?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Hi robert_ireland
You will find using a flexible connector will make the installation of the tray a lot easier. Make sure you use a proper connection into the existing waste connection, there should not be a reduction in waste pipe diameters at this point.
