Toilet leaking at supply pipe at base of cistern

Hi all,

I have discovered a leak which seems to be coming from the supply pipe at the bottom of my toilet cistern. It is a slow leak so it wasn't noticed at first.

The leak seems to be coming from the top of the brass connector fitted in the picture and not directly from the cistern.

Is this something easy to fix or replace?
Or is this an issue with the washer or seal?

TIA

Hi mikeslee
It would be best to replace the isolating valve and this will include a new washer. You will have to turn off the water supply to do this.

Thanks. Thought that might be the case.

Is this a novice job or better to call a plumber?

Hi mikeslee
Probably better to get in a deaf. Clearly due to the ptfe tape there have been problems sealing this fitting in the past. Should be a straightforward job with the right tools and skill but could easily be otherwise.
