Pop up plug waste unit under sink - connector rod 'ball' sizing mystery

by kaz4den » Wed Jun 22, 2022 4:10 pm

I'm trying to replace a rusted/broken horizontal connector rod under the sink's pop up waste plug. These rods have an integral ball / pivot to act as a lever point. (example) belo
. But the 'universal' rod I got online has a ball too large, by c. 2mm, for the threaded side-cyclinder into the waste unit., being roughly 13.5mm. I cannot find any sites that even specify the size of this ball / pivot (other than one for the over-large 13.5mm/14mm ironically).
Anyone know a site/supplier with connectors that have for an 11mm-12mm ball standard ?? it's looking less hassle to replace whole waste unit..
