Replacement for old and broken trv head

Hi
i have a broken trv head, i would imagine they go brittle over time, its a europa one, i dont want to do any plumbing to the rad, just fit another head, i have been around to look for another but they are all the types that are for the pin on the end where the head fits, the ones we have, have the pin in the head itself, does anybody know if i can get any with the pin in the head like the ones i have, i am not bothered what make it is just so as it fits and works, its a 15mm one, regards to all

Hi m1jwr,
You could try one of the Drayton heads but they have three different diameter lock rings, depending on the manufacturing date and even if you get the right ring the actuating pin may be at the wrong height.
Best to replace the whole thing with a new valve.

thanks for reply, have checked all the rads in the house, there is one with a pegler terrier 2 trv head, internally its the same as the europa ones, ive asked a question to a guy on ebay that is selling some, so i will try that route before going the new route

Hi m1jwr.
Worth trying one - you will need to check the clearance between the valve head bolt and the valve actuating pin, if it’s not right the valve head may be adjustable.
