Switch pipes for incorrectly plumbed thermostatic shower

Hi
I recently purchased a house and I have a problem with the thermostatic shower plumbed incorrectly, the hot is plumbed into the right and cold into the left, so I need to switch them over.
I cut in behind the shower and I see 2 pipes, the right side pipe is cold and goes in to the shower and then down to outlet for the washing machine, the left side pipe is the hot one.
Can someone give me a plan to switch these over with the least amount of effort?
I was thinking of drilling 2 holes in the wood using right angle drill bit and then feed in plastic pipe and disconnect left pipe from shower and connect the left across to the other side by removing the right side tee and putting an elbow upto right side of the shower and then the right side feed the cold water tee out to the left side and the upto shower input via elbow.
Is that ok or is there some other shortcut I could take?
