Will Building Control permit a combined rainwater / sewage system?

by Michael Burrows » Thu Mar 02, 2023 3:16 pm

Our Victorian house's rainwater down-pipes are connected to the foul-water sewer. In order to accommodate new wider French windows I want to move the existing soil stack. When they see the plans or site do you think Building Control will want to alter the existing rainwater arrangements? All the options are expensive
Thanks
Mike

Hi Michael burrows,
Suggest you contact your local water board and see if combined sewers are permitted for existing systems.
The problem will be that you may open a bag of worms if the surface water has in the past been fed into the foul system without approval.
