Water pooling around bath

Has anyone got any good ideas for resolving an issue we have with the surround of our bathtub. Whoever installed the bath installed the tiles around the bath lower than the bath and therefore when we have a shower, water is pooling around the sides and going onto the floor. We need some way to increase the height of the tiles to stop this happening so water drains into the bath instead. We would like to avoid taking the whole thing apart.

Hi heidiy,
Whatever you do it’s going to be a compromise but I would suggest you partly fill the well around the bath with a cement based tile adhesive and allow this to set. Then fit tiles in the gap between the wall and the bath sides so the tiles have a slight slope towards the bath and the sides next to the bath end up just proud of the top of the bath. Make sure your cut edge is against the wall and try to pick tiles with a curved rather than square edge. Use the same cementious adhesive. You will have to tile around the tap upstands but there is little choice - if you ever have to replace the taps it will be a bath out exercise.
