Deformed shower strip due to silicone reaction?

Hi,

About 3 months ago I re-sealed around the bottom of my shower cubicle using an L-profile Diall shower/bath strip. The strip was all siliconed in using Unibond Shower In 1 Hour silicone sealant.

After about a month the edges of the strip started to distort and come away, I removed the strip and the back had rippled up and pulled out of shape.

The only thing the back was exposed to was the Silicone. Is there any chance they have reacted with each other?
Thanks
James

Hi jduke,
The data sheet for the silicone does not recommend its use with polyethylene or polypropylene materials so it may be there has been a reaction to the acetic acid released during curing. You could try again and use a neutral curing silicone.
