hi guys this is my first post so pleasse go easy on me!!! :D

i want to change the location of the downstairs hall switch....the problem is there is not enough slack in one of the wires.

The switch is a 2 gangway 2 way switch for for the upstairs/downstairs hallway. I think its the 2 way wire which is not long enough...its got a grey, brown and blue wires inside the sleeving.

is there any way of extending the wire...i was thinking a juction box..if so what amp box do i need?

cheers in advance!

Any junction box has to be accessible. Anything not accessible has to be crimped or soldered and normally epoxy resin impregnated shrink sleeve would be used to give physical strength and electrical isolation and continuity. At some point a wall may get damp and cables disturbed and the joint needs to be as good as the original cable. Also there are very defined routes for cables which must be followed horizontal or vertical from switch but not both.
