can a fused spur be incorporated into the ring main/loop or must it be run as a spur?

to put a fused spur on the ringmain is normal practice

The rules for ring mains are shown in Appendix 15 and 433.1.5 it shows the FCU both directly and not directly connected very easy to see on the diagram but not so easy to explain in words which is of course why a picture is shown in the regs.
