hi can anyone help..I have 3 lights on my shed they are wired from a mains socket in the house and are dug in with armoured cable to the shed and the lights connected.I want to attach a waterproof 3 pin socket to this circuit for using the lawn mower.My question is that i want to be able to use the lawnmower without having all the shed lights on at the same time is there any way they can be wired or anything else i can attach so when i switch on the lawnmower socket this swiches off the lights circuit and vice versa or will just need to mow the lawn with all lights blazing..

Possible yes but not sure it would be worth the expense to use any automated system just fitting a local isolator (Switch) would be a lot cheaper. You will need RCD protection and it is a grey area as to Part P as work in a shed may not need Part P when the supply is already there but not sure if adding a socket to use outside would come under garden or shed!
