we're in the middle of a new kitchen build and also changing our old gas cooker to all electric and re-siting it, l wanted to run a spur from the original cooker switch but the wires from the spur and the original cable are too big to fit in the terminals, is it plausable and safe to join the wires with 30amp connectors and run it straight to the cooker, meaning while other people can turn off their cooker at the switch l would have to go to the fuse box.thanks

Spur and cooker don't seem to go together? Fused spur unit normally rated at 13 amp and cooker supply 30 amps plus.
Also there are permitted routes for cables.
And being Kitchen will come under Part P.
If your trying to fit 10mm cooker cable into a spur no wonder it will not fit maybe you can read project section and then ask again when you have more idea what you are asking.
