Having a new kitchen fitted and it will have two ovens. One fan assisted and one combination microwave. Existing cooker fed from new consumer unit via 32 amp MCB and 6mm cable. Both new ovens draw max 16 amps. Is it ok to connect both to existing cable (via separate 20 amp double pole switches) or should there be additional protection?

The switches would need to be over 32 amp i.e. 40 amp and as to if two can be feed from same supply depends on manufactures recommendations and I would think two separate supply's would be required.

PS are you aware of Part P

Thanks for that EricMark. Will check with manufacturers but sounds like second feed is the best option. Yes - very much aware of part P and all work being done will be properly certified,
