Having a real nightmare with a heat pump. Have installed with 63a MCB on non-RCD side of consumer unit, with properly sized cable running to local isolator above heat pump. Heat pump only requires high ampage during startup (it has a scroll compressor) - normal running is around 20 amps. It contains an backup electrical cassette (3kW) to heat water which is randomly tripping the 63a MCB after between 2-10 mins of operation, and for love nor money I can't understand why!
I'm on the verge of getting a sparky in to have a fiddle (I'm a heating engineer) - just wondered if anyone has an idea what might be causing this?

I would just love to get my hands on this one!!!!
or even a circuit diagram....
If compressor running on steady load to extract heat from ground/air, is back up heater in circuit with a water circulating pump plus flow switch to control cassette? would need clamp on ammeter placed around system to locate cause, no sign of loose connection i suppose, wish could be more help, regards SPARX (South Kent Coast area)

Not actually got compressor up and running yet (ground loop not yet filled with water). Only running system with electrical cassette - hence my confusion! Can't find sight nor sound of a loose connection - cassette has it's own MCB in heat pump tho, so can only assume fault is on supply?

Found the problem - faulty MCB! Changed it and now it's all working like a charm!
