Hi

I am wanting to wire in a double flood light to replace an existing exterior light that has been badly damaged in storm. There are alot of wires involved an am usure how to wire it as the existing fitting crumbled with old age.

There are three sets of wiring that leed to the light:
set 1: 1 x red, 1 x black, 1 x green
set 2: 1 x red, 1 x black, 1 x green
set 3: 1 x red, 1 x black

The new flood light only had 2 connectors for wires
1 x brown and 1 x blue

Can someone please give me some direction as to how to wire this correctly. I am in Australia.

I have looked at what you have and there is nothing in your post which gives any clue as to how it was wired. For internal lights one would expect three cables. Feed in, Feed to next lamp, and Switch wire. But for outside lamps this would not be normal method so other than say if there is a double square on the lamp one inside the other then it will be double insulated and will not require an earth and old Red = new Brown and old Black = new Blue when the colour codes changed there is very little help we can give. Greens are normally earth although now we use Green/Yellow. Big problem is sometimes black wires are sleeved red and used as Line wires so there is no way of telling if any of the black wires would have originally had some tape of sleeveing to show it was line. Only way would be to test all wires, Sorry
