Hi there

I have a ceiling rose pentant light that I want to replace with a six low voltage light unit bit there are several wires linked up to the light fitting. Whats the best way to remove the ceiling rose pendant light unit and replace it with the spots?

I have access to the wiring above under upstairs floor boards so is it possible to move the wiring above the ceiling and replace the rose with a junction box?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So long as you use the right type of junction box http://www.hager.co.uk/images/products/ ... JB_190.png when they can be covered there will be a big thing made about them being maintenance free you can't use the old round Bakelite type unless you provide access to it. I have seen hatches in the floor boards but really unless you also provide access with carpet as well not really any good.

Is it possible to buy a junction box you showed me in the high street and if so where? I've looked online and don't seem to see any for sale.

Would I be right in thinking its like a ceiling rose pendant but square and I'd just have the wire to the spot unit from the junction box?

I would think any electrical whole sale outlet would help CEF for example. Not people like B&Q though. See http://www.hager.co.uk/menu/downloads/g ... 4-3623.htm and download the junction box guide and you will see there is more than one option even for the one make Hager there is one designed to fit through the hole cut for a spot light so would be considered accessible. Most whole sale people will help and show you their equivalent.
