Electical Regulations with Washing machines in bathrooms

Hi, I have had conflicting advice on the following, Please can you confirm
what I can and can't do?

I would like to move my washing machine into the top floor of my town house wet room or shower room, total size of room 1830mm x 2150mm

Am I correct in thinking that if I enclose the washing machine into its own cupboard within the wet room that would be equivalent to zoning in a separate area and thus be acceptable for regulations?
Or must I just settle for a standard showeroom enclosure, with toilet and basin but still adding the washing machine into its own cupboard

I think they do this in Europe but is it ok here and if so with what restictions ?

Many thanks

Yes AFAIK this is OKprovided the door of the cupboard is kept shut unless you are loading or emptying the machine.

Hi bestbodger,
Unfortunately just because it is in a cupboard, does not put it out of zone.
Zones still apply around partition walls nevermind cupboards.
Serious hazard issues here, forget it. Your bathroom is too small for this appliance
sorry
