Light Box cabling

I've got an old light box, the sort that can be used for viewing old transparancies, or slides. It's about A2 in size, robustly constructed, and at least 25 years old.
I does not work because the blue neutral cable has come loose inside the box and I can't work out where it should attached.
Inside the box are 4 fluorescent tubes cables to two HPF Dimming Ballasts marked SSQH/40220/D, and an on/off/dimmer switch. The blue live cable is connected (via a fuse) to L1 on the switch, cables from L2 and VL on the switch run to either side of one of the ballasts. The green/yellow earth cable is attached to the chassis of the unit.
I've checked the cabling for loose/broken connections if case I can identify where the cable should be located, but no luck.
Any help would be much appreciated.
