Hello I have a single light switch in my bedroom .and I have a walk in cloths storage area , of which I want to put in a light. I have run a 1.5mm twin and earth cable to the existing switch and I want to use a double light switch so I can put either lights on . The single light switch has only one cable going to it .How can I wire up the double light switch to make this work ..Thanks for any advice ..

you have completely failed to understand the concept of the very basics. I couldn't possibly advise you do this work as it should only be carried out by "competant persons". However to get a better understanding i recommend you visit the projects section on this site.

hi, short answer 'you can't!'
you need to take a cable from existing light to new light and another from the new light to new switch position then connect as per 'Project-adding a light'
