10mm cable through loft insulation.

Route from shower unit to switch goes up, across loft and down again. Loft is insulated 100m with boards. Best/correct way to route cable? If it passes through insulation how much space is required within the insulation. If it is clipped at the top of joist sides is it ok to put wooden boards back in position with insulation kept 50mm away from cable?

That's fine if clipped direct and not covered by insulation it will not need to be derated.
