We are having a new Kitchen Fitted and there are some existing 2 way 13amp sockets above the work surfaces. At the moment they are 7cm above where the new worktop will be. Is there a minimum height that they need to be above the worktop if so can anyone tell me what it is and whether I will need to get them moved?

If it is not a new build no minimum height, but have them located where you think would most useful. Restriction of 300mm from sink/drainboard and not behind hobs again at least 300mm to the side.
Please remember that kitchen electrics do come under part p of building regs and this should be complied with.

regs on the height of new sockets are contained in the building regs, however, the wiring regs do require that sockets are mounted high enough to prevent undue stress on the appliance cable. there are also regs about siting sockets certain distances from cookers, sinks etc.

Hi, no set minimum, as long as flex from a plug not bent too tightly,
if 7cm is from bottom of plate, no problem,
