spark needs your ideas

HI all, usually answering posts on here not asking them, but thought I'd get some opinion on a job I've just reccied.
The guy wants 2 outside lights fitting on his house, normal ones, not security lights. I'm going to use an IP rated switch for this. All thats easy enough. whats a little more complex is he also wants the option of controling these with a PIR, but he also wants that switched so he can stop them coming on if he wants to.
so in essence we have two lights, which can be manually operated, or automaticall from a PIR which can be disabled if necessary (don't ask me why!)
any ideas?
got an outline in my head but would be interested to hear the views of any sparks out there, especially if you have done something like this yourself.
cheers
Andy

You could put a switch to break the feed to the pir unit .
the switches to turn on the lights could be separately wired , to
energise if required , even if sensor was off. u could use a 3
cable to do it . brown perm to sensor ( switched ) . black with brown tag ( switch overide ) , to live side of lamp , and grey with blue tag as neutral. obviously , earth as we both know green and yellow sleeve , to earth fittings if metalclad. u could incorporate a rcd spur . U KNOW ABOUT THE WONDERFUL PART P SO NO NEED 2 MENTION .

hmm, reckoned a 2G switch was going to be the answer. will probably take feed off the garage lights which are already RCD'd

Hi, can do with 2gang 2way outside switch,
live to common of first switch, link from L1 to common of other switch.
L1 of second switch to perm L of light (Brwn of 3 core)
L2 of second switch to sw.Line of light (blk of 3 core-{brn mkd})
Neutral ,Grey-{blue mkd} as Blakey suggests.
Ist. switch normally left on.
2nd selects PIR/over ride.
draw it out first and it's quite easy to see,
best regards SPARX
