Cooking Fat

I installed a intergrated extractor hood 24mths ago. Recently upon opening the hood front I blew out the PCB and one combined light fitting bulb. I have inspected inside the canopy wiring for faults but unable to find anything obvious . My only assumption is , a very poor plastic compression switch for the fan & lights.The plastic components appear to be eroding everytime the canopy door is opened & shut.
Besides this poor manufacturing detail my only other guess is that cooking fat vapours have managed to get into this switch and/or onto the printed circuit board. Does anybody have any knowledge of the conductivity dangers with cooking fats on electrical components?
Anybody know of a company that repairs/modifies domestic 'one off' PCBs. It would save me a lot of TM&T.

I you believe there to be a design or manufacturing fault then the place to take your problem is surely the manufacturer.

Frankly my guess is you'll be better off in time and pound notes just buying a replacement PCB.
