hi all

im currently doing the above course and im struggling with a few questions. im fine with the electrical questions, since im studying to be a spark, but on the course you get asked questions which i have no idea about, here is one example -

- Give TWO reasons why it is necessary for the main contractor to produce a schedule of work for an extension

now im not a main contractor, once qualified i would be working for a main contractor as a sub contractor, so i have no idea how to answer this question, could anyone help please

Well a main contractor duties a varried,
but the upshot is that he needs to manage the build so all other contractors are working in a system that ensures the work is completed on time and other contractor and subbies are there when they should be as are materials required to complete the work ordered.
Hopefully the work is completed on time and on budget.
He may have time restriction during the day, when only certain trades or certain equpment can be used or deliveries can be taken due to enviromental issue regarding noise and traffic restrictions. They may not be allowed to work on weekends or only work on evenings, to name a few.
So needs a plan of action.

You are focussing on the "main contractor" part of the question rather than the real question which is related to work planning.

Think of it this way:

"- Give TWO reasons why it is necessary for the electrical sub-contractor to produce a schedule of work for an extension"

but think of half a dozen reasons and from that you'll have suufficient data to answer the question thats been asked.
