I'm training as a domestic electrician and am studying for the 17th edition exams. As a newly qualified domestic electrician, what is the minimum toolset i need for the job? i.e. can i get started and sign off "Schedule of Test Results" certificates WITHOUT using an expensive multifunctional tester such as a megger or a fluke??

Live wire, there are cheaper version of test kit out there, you could buy a multi-func or a set of individual devices.
metrel/alphatek (easitest) do some good kits, if you go on ebay might pick one up for £200-250. retail at about £450-500 Brand New
They may need calibrating though about £40 should do that,
of course if you are employed by a company they should supply test kit.

Schedule of results is only one page of cert, anyway so no use alone

also to add, unitest/beha do a multi-func with a few tricks not sure of model code but they come in at less than 100 GP.
