Bedroom Lights Flickers off

When i turn the light on in my spare room, it flickers on for a bout a 1 second then doesn't come on. I have swapped bulbs and replaced the light pendant, still n ot joy. I'm stuck at what else to do. any ideas?

what type of bulb is it, standard tungsten?

Have you checked the tightness of all connections in the ceiling rose?
