Hi,

I has watched the video about the cieling fan and it mention an gadget that is expandable??? Because upon reading my ceiling fan instruction it need to be fitted to the ceiling joist but my existing light is in the middle of the plasterboard away from the joist.

SO 2 things I need to do, get the expandable gadget??? or relocate the ceiling fan so therefore need to install an junction box to extend the wires to the new location.

My question is ths, what is this gadget that is mention and can I get it in UK? If the gadget is unable to be obtianed then what is the correct way to go about it? I mena in term of junction box to extend the wires.

Thanks, PJ

either joint crimp cables or use a ashley junc box to extend circuit as all accessoiries should be assessible this two method of joint are allowed.

I could fit in a wooden noggins however do not have access to the joist from above thus asking about this expanding bars so now doing a search for expandable mounting brackets to see if I can get hold of one.

sometimes you can get a noggin through the hole in the ceiling (longish and thinnish!). I usually nonails it in place, then once that has dried add a couple of screws for good measure
