Can I change my shower from 8.5kw to 9.5kw safely

Good question,
do you have any electrical knowledge that could help you do this?
Do you know the difference in the fuse rating and the cable sizes needed to run a 9.5kW compared to a 8.5kW.
The fact the showers output is greater means for it to function correcty it will need a higher current than the 8.5kW.
This will also mean that the cable cross sectional area will need to be able to carry the current safely.
Intsalling new circuits then comes under part p (look at part p on projects pages)
This then becomes notifiable work, £130 fee to building controls if not using registered competant person(electrician).

Your likely to need a 45A MCB or RCBO if CU not already fitted with RCD protection, this will need at least 6.00mm cable but I always like to use 10.00mm generally covers for any additional factors and further upgrades.
