how whould i fit a strip light into a loft space? and connect up safely. thanks.

A permanent feed from a lighting circuit , jointboxed , and new light and switch off that.
But can you work out maximum demand of existing circuit , suitability to carry extra load , fill in a minor works cert from page 335 of
BS7671 , and have test instruments to record test results .
