Spotlights I have installed in the past have sepearate flexes for each spot which are joined in a connector strip. The supply then comes into this strip from the other side. If only one light is working but all three flexes are in the strip it may be faulty, in which case return it to the shop you bought it from.

Not sure if the problem is that there is only one wire from the ceiling

I'm no expert on the different forms of wiring for lighting circuits, however if one of the lights is on then as long as all the wiring in the light fitting is correct you shouldn't need any more cables from the ceiling.
Power is being supplied down one cable and it should be sufficient to supply more than 3 spots.

hi im an electrician.....MW ELECTRICAL....CARLISLE..
assuming that one of the lights are working...check you havent pulled any wiring away from the light fitting itself......accidentally occuring whilst you have wired it up......it happens to me, and ive been a sparky since 1982.
asuming everything is fine and there are no loose wires from the fitting...
check you bulbs are ok...check that they are fitted securely....
trust me.....it will be one or the other.....
let me no how you get on.
Mark ..
