Hi.

I am fitting a fan/light circuit and I have a switch pattress box in which the N wires from the incoming 3 core and 4 core cables need to be joined together. They do not form part of the switch connections.

What kind of connection block is acceptable to use inside the metal switch box to join these wires? Should this be fixed to the box or float free inside?

Thanks

Hi
Conforming to the I.E.E regulations all metallic wall patrices should be well earthed.you should ensure that the neutral wires are joined together using insulated connectors with its correct rating.Depending on the kind of your grounding method used from the main supply you can ONLY WITH CAUTION Connect the neutral wire on the swith pattrice surface.
