Hiya,

Is it allowed/possible to bury IP65 junction boxes (Google "tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/LB9025.html").

The existing cable is armoured, I just need to move some external sockets around...

It says on link:-

Suitable for Underground joints when used in conjunction with a compound filler. ( resin or epoxy putty )

So why ask? I have used re-enterable compound when working in Hong Kong but not found it for sale here. All my test lamps were filled with it to stop moisture when working underground and it worked great.

Big problem anything with a void filled with air is as it heats the air can escape and as it cools it can draw in water. So any box needs filling with something other than air. Or like many pumps pressurise the air.

hi, imho they are not designed for burial, but TLC's own advert says they are ok if filled with compound...
I would replace with a Pratley underground box as sold by QVS & others,
