Which cable to shower?

Hi,
I'm installing a steam shower that requires a dedicated cable to the consumer unit. It has to be able to take a full 16amp load when in full flow. What thickness of twin and earth wire is best?

The route and length will change what is required likely to be 2.5mm for 16A but it's not quite that easy.
It will also need Part P and to be candid it costs that much to DIY in council charges not really worth it.

16 amps is just over 3.5kw. Now i might be wrong? But steam rooms are quite often have heavier loads than this & i have usually had to run 6mm TWE cable to them. See if there is a KW rating label on the unit & post it back here. This also wants to be an individual run from the consumer unit on its own fuse with a fitted RCD that will be part of this circuit.

I realise about the individual run and RCB, so that's sorted. The unit seems to have a max. output of 3.1Kw and the run is in the region of 40 feet.
I'm guessing the 6mm suggestion might be best?
