lights from ring socket

can a MINI CUwith 6amp mcb be fitted to spur coming off ring socket ,socket blanked off ,to supply lights and basic xfan
not the usual way to spur from ring!
if single socket, change for a fused connection unit (fused spur) with a 3A fuse fitted.
Ifexisting is a double socket then usual way is to fit FCU next to it again with 3A fuse.
