Hi.
I have a socket in an outside shed, I have recently put a pond in the garden. I would like to run armoured cable from the socket using an RCB, around the garden fixing it to fence posts to a purpose built weather proof switched connection box, then connect the pond pump using using the 3m weather proof cable supplied.

Can I do this?

Dererhogg, running armoured cable is not a bad idea.except that you should conform yourself to regulations concerning special installations on damp areas.you can also use mims cable.ensure that your installation is well earthed and use of the right cable entries into any box.Important! make sure the right size of the cable is used.this ensures that their is proper division of currents and reduce voltage drops..>sankibe>

Hi D.H. further to other comment, this is covered by bldg regs part p so you cannot legally DIY ANY outdoor wiring,
