MR16 led bulbs problem

I've just bought a few MR16 led bulbs and I've plugged them in but they don't work. They turn on the instant I switch them on, but then go straight off. Does anyone know why?

Likely not using enough current with switch mode power supplies there is a minimum and well as maximum power requirement.
