Replacing Lampholder

Hi, hope somebody can help.
I have taken off a "Lampholder Straight Batten" as I'd smashed the bayonet connection with some ladders (clumsy I know). So I've decided to replace it with a pretty much identical Lampholder, it has 3 terminals and one says 'loop'. I have 6 wires coming from my ceiling 3 red and 3 black. 3 red went into one terminal and 2 black went into another terminal and 1 black was on its own. I stupidly did not note which black wires went where.
I suppose my question is... How many wires should go into the 'loop'?
This will help to shorten the trial and error situation.
Thanks!
