I have just replaced an existing ceiling light and I have connected each wire where it should be. After turning the power back on all of the lights work but when I turn on the next switch on the circuit it switches the light I have just replaced on very dimley. I think it must only be a minor thing that is wrong but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Any ideas?

Sounds if you have mixed up the neutral wire and live switch return. Likely both black. See Project for correct wiring.
