What do you know about solar powered security lights? And what are your opinions of them? Do you think they are a good idea?

Put simply they are a load of rubbish.
There is not enough light most of the time to enable them to work during the average night, and rechargeable batteries soon give up.

The problem of solar power i well known. No sun -> No Energy. In my mind the future of energy supply is not solar power.
