I have just replaced my free standing cooker with a 7.5kw column oven using existing 6mm cable and 45a double pole switch. Can someone advice me as to the best way to connect my 5.8kw hob which is situated 0.5 metre from oven. I realize this work will have to be checked by an electrician.

SO U ALREADY HAVE A 7.5 KW OVEN OFF A 6MM2 CABLE.
AND U HAVE A 5.8 KW HOB TO CONNECT UP.
THERE R DIVERSCITY FACTORS BUT IF YOU USED THE SAME
CABLE THERE WOULD BE THE LIKLY HOOD OF OVERLOADING IF BOTH
APPLIANCES WERE SUDDENLY USED AT FULL CAPACITY.
I HAVE SEEN THIS DONE AND ITS NOT GOOD PRACTISE .
I WOULD ADVISE FOR SAFETY THAT A NEW 6MM2 CIRCUIT IS WIRED
AND AS IT IS NOTIFIBLE U NEED TO GET A REGISTERED SPARK IN.
