Light with 2 swithes

I am putting up a replacement light in my dining room which has two switches. When taking down the old light there seemed to be a few loose wires and I am now confused.

Coming out of the ceiling are 2 brown wires, 2 blue wires, a thickish black wire(which has brown coating inside) and the green/yellow earth wire.

The new light only has one brown and one blue wire.

Any suggestions? At the moment the wires are disconnected and my kitchen light does not work either, even though this is on a different switch.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, the fact the next light has stopped working indicates a loop-in wiring method.
if you temp. connect brown wires together and blue wires together in 2 connector blocks the next light should work.
The 'large black wire with brown centre' could be the switch cable which may be a twin brown type as should be used for switch drop wiring.
To confirm how many cables you have, with power off, remove earth sleeving and see how many actual wires are inside, it should be 3, have another look and reply please,
