Help with Switches

I have bought an indoor light switch. What does L1, L2, L3 & L4 mean and what do I put in them?

TOMBOYSE
SOUNDS LIKE U HAVE WHAT IS KNOWN AS AN INTERMEADIATE SWITCH. THIS NORMALY GOES BETWEEN TWO 2 WAY
TO SWITCH A LIGHT FROM 3 POSITIONS.
MORE INFO ! R U REPLACING A ORDINARY 1 WAY SWITCH
