hi all, i wounder if any one can help me please, i am trying to replace a double dimmer control unit that operates two lights, i am using a rocca fitting from homebase, now, at the back of the dimmer control i have two sets of connections marked as a ~ with arrow through it, (common i think) L2 & L1, now my problem is, the cables in the wall, they are blue, yellow, black, red, red. i am not sure were these cables go to, any help would be great, thanks john

hiya, yes it is a 2 way, 1 side controls a 2 way dimmer, the other a hall light,

It depends whether this is the 'master' switch or the slave switch for the 2 way switch (hall light). If it's the master the general set up is;
From the cable with just a red and black wire, the red goes to L1 the black goes to L2. From the multicoloured cable the red goes to common, the yellow goes to L1 and the blue goes to L2. So you have two cables in L1 and L2.
If it's the slave the red and black wires are for the other switch and from the multicoloured cable red goes to common, yellow goes to L1, blue goes to L2.
If necessary take the other switch in the 2-way circuit off and see if it has two sets of wires going into it.
That's the standard 2 way set up from my DIY manual.

thank you all
