Can I remove a sealed plug and reattach?

Is there any reason why I shouldn't cut off a modern sealed plug for a dishwasher and then reattach a new one? (I need to thread the cable through a small hole.)

Guarantee is the only reason. Clearly if it fails once you have cut the plug off returning the unit may be a problem.

No reason at all Keith, except that it might invalidate the warranty on the machine. I did that with mine but I ran it through a couple of cycles first attached to an extension lead to make sure the dishwasher was working proplerly.
