Hi i want to change the consumer unit in my house. its currently old and needs updating.

im not excatly sure on the best board to replace with! I only need 8/10 ways but also need a couple of circuits to be protected byh RCD. is it best to get a split load board with RCD side (but i only need two slots for that) or better to just get a 8way board with rcd on main switch. baring in mind its an old house and i dont want to much trouble with i keep triping. Can anyone help?? Thanks

sljx,
This sort of job can be a nightmare, get a pro in to do it and they can certify its been done correctly and deal with any issues. You are probably looking at a cost in excess of £500.
