land lords meters

hello i am a land lord and i have a landlords meter a Ampy meter that reads day and night rates
and the screen has come up flashing with looks like err but still seems to read the units ok
i asume this means error can this be fixed by me to reset the meter but with out lossing the reading?
also can the meter read wrong if this is like this ?
and readgiter more units then used ?
also can a meter read more units if the wiring is old ?
or more curent used to blow the main trip all the time ?

It sounds like you need to contact your electricity company or the company that supplied your meter. Old wiring doesn't use more power than new. If the main breaker keeps tripping this suggests a wiring fault which you will need a competent electrician to investigate,
